Alexandria, VA, April 13, 2009 — Brian P. O'Shaughnessy, a shareholder in the Intellectual Property Section of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Alexandria office, was recently elected to Rochester Institute of Technology's Board of Trustees. Announced during RIT's April 2, 2009, board meeting, O'Shaughnessy joins 51 other active trustees.
O'Shaughnessy, an RIT graduate ('81 BS, '84 MS chemistry) previously served on the board as president of the RIT Alumni Association. He now becomes an at-large member. In 2006, he was selected as the distinguished alumnus for RIT's College of Science.

Brian O'Shaughnessy focuses his practice on counseling clients in developing and implementing strategies to protect and respect intellectual property particularly in the areas of organic chemistry, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
